Afentra Increases Presence in Africa, Partners with African Energy Week (AEW) for Investing in African Energy 2024

A delegation from Afentra, a company focused on oil and gas exploration in Africa, will be attending the African Energy Week (AEW) conference in Cape Town from November 4 – 8. The delegation will be led by CEO Paul McDade, COO Ian Cloke, and CFO Anastasia Deulina.

Afentra has been expanding its presence in Africa, particularly in Angola where they have recently acquired assets to increase their production capacity. The company currently holds interests in Block 3/05 and Block 3/05A, with a combined gross production rate of 20,180 barrels of oil per day in 2023. Afentra is also in the process of acquiring more interests in these blocks from Azule Energy with the help of Sonangol, the Angolan national oil company. The executives from Afentra will be sharing insights on the company’s investments and projects at AEW: Invest in African Energy.

AEW: Invest in African Energy is a key platform for industry players, financiers, technology providers, and government officials to engage and make deals in the African energy sector. To learn more about this event, visit www.AECWeek.com.

Afentra’s strategy is to optimize production and reduce emissions in their diverse portfolio of assets in Angola and Somaliland. The company aims to extend the lives of mid-life producing assets by redeveloping and optimizing them in a safe and efficient manner.

In Angola, Afentra has been actively selling crude oil and acquiring stakes in various blocks to boost production. In Somaliland, the company is conducting drilling campaigns to develop the Odewayne Block where they hold a 34% interest.

The Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, NJ Ayuk, emphasized the importance of Africa’s oil and gas resources in driving industrialization and energy transition. Afentra’s investments and expertise are crucial in this transition period for Africa’s energy market.

Afentra is committed to being a reliable partner in Africa’s energy transition by efficiently exploring, developing, and monetizing oil and gas resources. With millions of people in Africa facing energy poverty, the continent’s abundant reserves offer significant opportunities for investors like Afentra. AEW: Invest in African Energy 2024 provides a valuable platform for Afentra to engage with African projects and policymakers and facilitate new deals.
