Discovering I was a mutant and my life changing overnight was not a movie plot or science fiction novel; it was my reality last year, leading to my return to writing for e27 after a long break.
On July 17th, 2023, I was diagnosed with monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma (MEITL), an extremely rare peripheral T-cell lymphoma in the gastrointestinal tract. The causes of MEITL are genetic but not hereditary, making it a one in a million condition.
Despite aggressive treatment, the lymphoma persists, affecting my engagement with the world of technology, especially Web3.
As the Head of Content for a blockchain startup, I was deeply involved in Web3 activities, content creation, and community engagement. Now, with my focus on recovery and healing, I hope to re-enter this realm with a fresh perspective and contribute positively.
Living with cancer has imparted valuable lessons on fighting against the odds and choosing how to react, which can resonate with the challenges faced in Web3 and other industries.
As I navigate the complexities of treatment and recovery, I aim to adapt, become more resilient, and cherish the small joys in life. Embracing each day fully, despite uncertainties, is my way of confronting the challenges posed by both cancer and the ever-evolving landscape of Web3.
